low-e

Windows have a thin, invisible, metallic layer that is applied directly to the surface of the glass that allows heat energy from the sun to enter the home while reflecting heat generated in the home back into the living space. Low emissivity (low-e) means the surface radiates, or emits, low levels of radiant energy.
