Equal Payment Plan

Make budgeting easier with our Equal Payment Plan (EPP). This convenient option lets you pay your electricity and/or natural gas bills in equal monthly payments over the year. The plan starts in September, balances out in August and you can return to regular monthly billing at any time.


How it works

  • you’re a Manitoba Hydro customer and your account is up to date on payments
  • we look at your past energy use to estimate how much your monthly budget will be
  • you enrol between September and March, your monthly EPP payments will start on your next bill
  • you enrol between April and August, your monthly EPP payments will start in September (for the next full EPP term)

How to apply

Setting up an Equal Payment Plan is easy. Log in to your online account, review your estimated monthly payment under the “Billing” section and select “Apply” for each service you’d like to enrol in.

Account changes

  • If you’d like to change your monthly payment or cancel your Equal Payment Plan, call us at 1-888-MB-HYDRO.
  • Your budget may be rebalanced in April. Your actual energy use will be reviewed in April, and your monthly payments may be adjusted to help you avoid a large balance due in August. Any credits for overpayment will be applied to your first bill of the next EPP term.
