Winter in Manitoba can be beautiful — especially when everything is white and bright after a fresh snowfall.
Unfortunately, it can also be the season for slips, slides, and falls.
Snow and ice on any steps and walkways pose a hazard, including for meter readers, couriers, and food delivery drivers.
As a good neighbour, please keep your walkway, steps, and driveway free from ice and snow. It also helps to have a clear path to your meter for the reader. Regular meter readings help Manitoba Hydro provide you with accurate billing.
And please keep your natural gas meter clear of snow and ice build-up. Too much snow and ice could put stress on the meter and cause a gas leak. Carefully brush snow from your gas meter with your hand or a broom.
