Trades training programs
Our paid technical and trades-related training programs include indentured apprenticeships and non-indentured apprenticeships. Employment in these programs provides the opportunity to receive job training and work experience leading to journeyperson status and post-journeyperson development.
Indigenous pre-placement programs
We have pre-placement programs for Indigenous candidates who do not meet the minimum academic qualifications of our power line technician, power electrician, or mechanical technician training programs. These pre-placement programs provide paid academic upgrading and on-the-job training and experience. These are 6 to 12 month programs with no guarantee of continued employment upon completion:

- Indigenous power electrician/mechanical technician pre-placement program.
Women’s pre-placement programs
We are committed to achieving and maintaining a workforce that reflects the demographics of our province and the communities we serve. Currently, women are underrepresented in our skilled trades. We want to improve this by introducing more women to this highly rewarding and exciting area of work. These paid pre-placement programs are for women with limited trades-related experience that will provide them with an opportunity to develop the skills required to successfully compete for a position in the power electrician, mechanical technician, or power line technician training programs. Educational upgrading will also be provided for candidates who do not meet the minimum academic requirements. These are 6 to 12 month programs with no guarantee of continued employment upon completion.
