The Indigenous Monitoring and Stewardship Fund is only available to Indigenous communities, Indigenous governments, regional Indigenous governance organizations and tribal councils who have a connection to the waters and shorelines affected by hydroelectric development on the Churchill, Burntwood, Nelson, Saskatchewan, Laurie, or Winnipeg River systems.

Required documents

To be considered for funding, you must include and upload these documents:

  • a project schedule
  • a detailed project budget that demonstrates expenditures in various components of the project
    • no more than 10% of funding may be allocated to general administration costs
    • no more than 50% of funding may be provided to consultants or technical experts
    • eligible projects may receive up to maximum of $125,000

Additional files may also be attached (but are not required). These include:

  • any relevant maps to help show the location of your project
  • photos
  • business case, where required to support capital purchases
