The National Building Code of Canada states a firewall is required when multiple utility services are requested for a residential building. You must provide proof (documents from a developer, architect, engineer, etc.) before any service installation, that a firewall will be part of the building design.

Your application will not be processed without your site plan. The site plan should include:

  • property dimensions;
  • architectural side elevations;
  • driveway location;
  • building distances from both the front and side lot lines;
  • proximity to existing Manitoba Hydro lines;
  • barcode number on closest hydro pole.
